With the growing public interest in food and nutrition and its role in preventing and managing chronic diseases and obesity, the demand for Dietitians and Nutritionists is expected to increase. PNDS Registered Dietitian/Nutritionists are qualified food and nutrition experts who have met specific criteria to earn RDN credentials.

How to become a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist?

Below is an overview of the requirements to become a PNDS Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist.
Based on the guidelines provided by a working group for Pakistan Accreditation of Nutrition and Dietetic Professionals, PNDS has developed a registration exam to certify practicing dietitians and nutritionists in 2010.The Exam held every year since 2011, for the members who fulfil the eligibility criteria for appearing in the RDN exam. Those who pass the Exam are certified as PNDS Registered Nutritionist/Dietitian for a period of two years

Eligibility Criteria

1) PNDS Regular lifetime membership
2) Proof of 1-year supervised training/Internship completed under one of the following.

• A Clinical Dietitian
• A Public Health Nutritionist
• Academia/Teaching Institutions
• Food Industry as a Nutritionist
• Health Care & Wellness clinics/spa
